In engineering and design, computer-aided methods reduce iteration time, improve accuracy, and enable optimization and generative design. In manufacturing, CAM drives automated tooling and additive manufacturing workflows.

Benefits include enhanced efficiency, improved performance prediction, and virtual testing before production. Challenges include high initial cost, the need for specialized training, data interoperability, and cybersecurity.
