Telematicamodule
Telematicamodule, often written as telematics module or telematics control unit (TCU), is an embedded device that provides wireless communication, location, and remote-service capabilities for vehicles and mobile assets. It integrates cellular radios, GNSS receivers, local connectivity (Bluetooth, Wi‑Fi), vehicle interfaces (CAN, LIN, Ethernet) and onboard processing to collect, preprocess and transmit data to cloud services.
Typical functions include real‑time vehicle tracking, remote diagnostics, emergency call (eCall/assistance), infotainment connectivity, over‑the‑air (OTA) software
Design considerations balance connectivity performance, power consumption, electromagnetic compatibility and ruggedness for automotive or industrial environments.
Telematicamodules are supplied by automotive tier‑1 suppliers, semiconductor vendors and telematics service providers and are increasingly
