Riggingteknikere are professionals who design, install, operate, and maintain rigging systems used to suspend and move equipment, scenery, and performers in theatres, film and television productions, live events, and industrial settings. They work from concept to completion, translating a designer's intent into a safe, functional support structure. Responsibilities include inspecting and selecting hardware, calculating load paths, assembling rigging points, installing trusses, cables, chains, and motors, and testing systems prior to use. They coordinate with lighting, audio, carpentry, and safety staff, and may supervise other rigging personnel during load-in and show runs.
