In practice, målplattforme is often described as facilitating objective-driven execution, and is commonly associated with goal-setting methodologies such as Objectives and Key Results (OKR) or KPI-based performance management.

Core features include a hierarchical goal structure, cascading alignment of objectives, key results or metrics, and progress indicators.
