Reformistism

Reformistism refers to a political and social philosophy that advocates for gradual, systematic changes within existing institutions rather than revolutionary upheaval. Unlike radical movements that seek to overthrow established systems, reformists aim to improve society by modifying laws, policies, and practices incrementally. This approach often prioritizes stability, pragmatism, and consensus-building to achieve progressive goals.

The origins of reformist thought can be traced back to various historical movements, including the Enlightenment, where thinkers like John Locke and Adam Smith emphasized gradual societal improvement through reason and legal reform. In the 19th and 20th centuries, reformist ideologies gained prominence in labor movements, civil rights campaigns, and political parties that sought to address social injustices without disrupting the fundamental structure of governance.

Reformist strategies typically involve lobbying, legal challenges, public advocacy, and electoral politics to influence policy.
