Intelligenssystem

Intelligenssystem is a term used to describe computer-based systems that perform tasks associated with intelligent behavior. Such systems combine data, computational models and software to perceive, reason, learn and act. They operate across domains from routine automation to advanced cognitive capabilities that adapt to new situations.

Core components typically include data sources and processing, models or algorithms (such as machine learning, statistical methods or rule-based logic), computing infrastructure, and user interfaces. Governance mechanisms, including validation, monitoring and versioning, help ensure reliability, safety and compliance with intended objectives.

Common types range from rule-based expert systems and traditional information retrieval to machine learning–driven systems (supervised, unsupervised and reinforcement learning) and hybrid or cognitive systems that combine multiple approaches. These systems may operate autonomously or assist humans through decision support, analysis or interaction.

Applications span many domains, including healthcare and diagnostics, finance and risk assessment, manufacturing and logistics, transportation, customer service and chatbots, natural language processing, image and speech recognition, and data analytics.
