Videovægge, or video walls, are large-scale displays built from multiple individual panels arranged in a grid to form a single, seamless screen. They are used wherever a high-impact, persistent visual presence is required, from corporate lobbies and control rooms to public signage and broadcasting environments.

Two main technologies dominate the market: LCD video walls and LED video walls. LCD walls consist of tiled LCD panels and are generally cost-effective with straightforward content management, aided by bezel compensation to minimize seams. LED walls use modular LED cabinets, offering higher brightness, better contrast, and very narrow bezels, but at a higher initial investment. The perceived sharpness depends on pixel pitch: smaller pitches suit closer viewing, while larger pitches are suitable for distant viewing.

Content delivery and image processing are central to video walls. A video-wall controller or processor receives multiple input sources, scales and arranges them into the tiled layout, and handles features such as bezel compensation, edge blending for multi-wall canvases, warping for curved configurations, and color and brightness uniformity correction. Content can be managed through a dedicated system, enabling scheduling, live feeds, and multi-source display.

Applications span control rooms, broadcast studios, corporate lobbies, retail environments, museums, sports venues, airports, and other public spaces that require large-format visuals or dynamic advertising. Considerations when planning a videowall include viewing distance and pixel pitch, total cost (panels, mounting, power, cooling), maintenance and spare parts, reliability, and ongoing software updates.

Maintenance typically involves periodic calibration, color matching, cleaning, and, when needed, replacement of individual panels or modules to preserve uniform image quality.
