Projektörer are professionals who specialize in the design phase of a project, translating concepts into detailed technical drawings, models, and specifications used for construction or manufacturing. They work within the projektering or design team, collaborating with engineers, architects, procurement staff, and clients to develop solutions that meet function, safety, and cost criteria.

Key responsibilities include creating and revising 2D and 3D drawings, developing fabrication and installation drawings, preparing Bills of Materials, and specifying components and materials. They perform design calculations, verify dimensions and tolerances, assess feasibility, and ensure compliance with applicable standards and codes. They coordinate with other disciplines to resolve clashes and inconsistencies, manage documentation, and support procurement, fabrication, and on-site installation with technical guidance.

Common tools are computer-aided design (CAD) and building information modeling (BIM) software such as AutoCAD, Revit, ArchiCAD, SolidWorks, Tekla Structures, and Navisworks, as well as document management and project-tracking systems. Proficiency in reading blueprints and specifications, attention to detail, and good communication are essential.

Education and training typically include an engineering degree or diploma in a relevant field (civil, mechanical, electrical, architectural) or drafting technology, with specialized CAD/BIM training and work experience. Many projektörer advance to senior projektör roles, design engineers, or project managers.
