Drapeeringud are decorative or functional arrangements of fabric created by folding, gathering, and draping textile to form volume, texture, and architectural emphasis. They are used to cover or embellish surfaces and are common in interior design, stage settings, and fashion.

In interior design, drapeeringud serve as window coverings, room dividers, or wall hangings, influencing light, acoustics, and spatial perception. Historically, drapery has played a prominent role in many cultures, with elaborate curtains and hangings appearing in European palaces from the 17th century and evolving through different textile fashions in the 18th and 19th centuries. The advent of varied pleating systems and lightweight fabrics in the 19th and 20th centuries expanded both function and style.

Techniques used in drapeeringud include pleating (such as pinch, goblet, and knife pleats), swags and cascades, and gathered or flat folds. Proper care varies by material but generally involves appropriate cleaning methods, ironing or steaming, and protection from excessive sun exposure to preserve fabric and color.
