ValleysNorth is a fictional geographic region used in educational and planning simulations to illustrate a northward chain of valleys within a generic mountainous highland system. The name is commonly used in textbooks and GIS exercises to discuss valley formation, watershed management, and rural land use.

The region comprises a network of glacially carved valleys running roughly east to west, connected by narrow passes and broad valley floors. It spans roughly 120 kilometers in length and 20–40 kilometers across, with elevations from about 500 to 2,000 meters above sea level. A central watershed collects most streams and drains toward a northern outlet.

The climate is temperate with subalpine characteristics; winters bring snow and cold, summers are mild and brief. Vegetation shifts with elevation: lower slopes in mixed conifer forests, mid-elevation meadows, and sparse alpine communities at higher elevations. ValleysNorth is a descriptive toponym used in simulations and literature rather than a real jurisdiction. The name combines “valleys” with the cardinal direction to indicate geographic orientation. It is often contrasted with southern or central valley regions in similar exercises.
