Usabilitas is the Indonesian term for usability, referring to the extent to which a product can be used by specified users to achieve specified goals with effectiveness, efficiency, and satisfaction within a given context of use. In practice, usabilitas applies to digital products such as software interfaces, websites, and mobile apps, as well as hardware and services. It is one dimension of user experience and is closely related to, but distinct from, accessibility.

Definition and criteria: The ISO 9241-11 standard defines usability as the extent to which a product can be used by specified users to achieve given goals with effectiveness, efficiency, and satisfaction in a context of use. Components include effectiveness (accuracy and completeness), efficiency (resources expended), satisfaction (comfort and acceptability), learnability, and error tolerance.

Measurement and methods: Usabilitas is evaluated using methods such as usability testing, heuristic evaluation, cognitive walkthroughs, and user surveys. Guidelines and standards, including WCAG for accessibility, often reinforce usability principles such as consistency, feedback, clarity, and simplicity.

Origin and usage: The term is widely used in Indonesian-speaking contexts discussing human–computer interaction, product design, and UX research, reflecting a global emphasis on making products easier and more effective to use.
