Sokkien is a fictional language created for linguistic demonstration and wiki-style documentation. It is designed to illustrate typical features of natural languages without referring to a specific real-world community. The name is a constructed form inspired by various phonologies and orthographies used in language creation.

There are no native speakers of Sokkien. It exists primarily in academic settings, language-typology exercises, and online conlang communities as a tool for comparing grammatical patterns and writing systems.

Sokkien is presented as a largely analytic language with subject–verb–object word order. It features a mix of isolating and mildly agglutinative morphology. Nouns have little to no gender marking; plurality is indicated by numerals or determiners. Verbs carry aspect markers rather than tense inflections, with past (-ta), progressive (-min), and future (-vai) affixes or clitics. Pronouns include a first-person singular, second-person, and a third-person set that does not distinguish gender. Adjectives generally follow nouns and participate in a light degree-marking system.

Phonology and writing: The phoneme inventory includes a small set of consonants p, t, k, s, m, n, l, r, h and vowels a, e, i, o, u. Syllables are typically CV or CVC, with stress often on the penultimate syllable. The writing system is Latin-based, using diacritics optionally to indicate vowel length or tone.
