Installar is the infinitive form of a verb used in Spanish and Portuguese meaning to install, to place in position, or to set up software, hardware, systems, or equipment. In standard orthography, those languages spell the verb as instalar. The form "installar" with two l's is generally considered nonstandard in Spanish and Portuguese and is often seen as an English loanword or a spelling error, especially in formal writing or documentation.
