The seven senses involved are sight, sound, smell, taste, touch, movement (vestibular), and body position (proprioception).

Individuals with aistihäiriöinä can experience over-responsivity (hypersensitivity) or under-responsivity (hyposensitivity) to sensory stimuli. For example, a hypersensitive person might find loud noises overwhelming or certain textures unbearable, while a hyposensitive person might seek out intense sensory experiences or not notice pain.
