The phrase combines systeem (system) and tasand (level), with the possessive/genitive form süsteemtasandi referring to aspects that belong to or characterize this level. In academic use, it marks a perspective that emphasizes how a whole system functions through interactions among its parts, rather than by inspecting components in isolation.
