Pellet stoves are designed for residential heating, offering a more automated and efficient alternative to traditional wood-burning fireplaces or stoves. They typically have hoppers that store pellets and an auger system that feeds them into a combustion chamber. Pellet boilers serve a similar purpose but are designed to heat larger spaces or entire homes, often providing hot water as well. They are integrated into central heating systems.

The appeal of pelletfueled technology lies in several factors. Pellets are often considered a renewable energy source, especially when derived from sustainable forestry practices or waste materials, as they are made from plant matter that can be regrown.
