Klisterfällor

Klisterfällor, often translated as glue traps or sticky traps, are devices used to catch and immobilize small animals, most commonly rodents and insects. They consist of a sticky adhesive applied to a piece of cardboard, plastic, or other material. The adhesive is designed to be strong enough to prevent the trapped animal from escaping.

These traps are typically deployed in areas where pests are a problem, such as homes, businesses, or agricultural settings. Their simplicity of design and relatively low cost have made them a popular choice for pest control. However, their use is also a subject of significant ethical debate.

Critics argue that klisterfällor cause prolonged suffering to the trapped animals. They can become stuck, leading to injury, dehydration, starvation, or suffocation. In some cases, animals may chew off their own limbs in an attempt to escape. Furthermore, non-target species, including beneficial insects or even pets, can inadvertently become trapped.
