JMAG
JMAG is a commercial finite element analysis software package for electromagnetic field analysis and multi-physics simulation, widely used in the design of electric machines and electromagnetic devices. It provides 2D and 3D simulations of magnetic and electric fields and supports nonlinear material models, including magnetic saturation and hysteresis, as well as eddy current and stray-field effects. The solver handles steady-state and transient electromagnetics and can couple with thermal, mechanical, and acoustic physics to enable multi-physics studies. Features include time-domain and frequency-domain analyses, motion and rotor-stator coupling, and optimization workflows for performance, efficiency, and thermal management. It also enables loss and heating calculations, air-gap flux analysis, and magnetostatic or transient magnetization studies for permanent magnets, windings, and soft magnetic materials.
JMAG is commonly applied to the design and analysis of electric machines such as motors and generators,
JMAG is developed and maintained by JSOL Corporation, a Japanese company, and is used by organizations worldwide
