The concept emerged in the late 2000s as researchers and designers explored how to build more natural and efficient interfaces for modern computing. It encompasses technologies such as voice recognition, haptic feedback, eye‑tracking, motion sensors, brain‑computer interfaces, and immersive 3‑D gestural controls.
