FIbryder
FIbryder is a software platform designed for modeling, designing, and analyzing fiber-reinforced materials, including textiles, composites, and fibrous sensors. It provides an integrated workflow that combines a geometric fiber engine, a material property database, and a multi-physics solver to simulate fiber orientation, weave patterns, resin flow, and mechanical response across multiple length scales. The platform emphasizes modularity and interoperability with other design and analysis tools.
The project originated in the late 2010s at the Institute for Advanced Materials in collaboration with industry
Key features include a fiber geometry engine capable of generating both random and structured fiber arrangements,
FIbryder is applied across aerospace, automotive, sports equipment, and fashion sectors for the design of lightweight,
