Ergonomiga is a holistic approach to designing products, workspaces, and systems that place human well-being and performance at the center of the design process. It combines physical ergonomics, cognitive ergonomics, and organizational considerations into a single framework intended to reduce risk of injury and fatigue while improving efficiency and user satisfaction.

Origin and scope: The term is used in contemporary design discourse to describe practices that integrate user research, iterative prototyping, and data-driven evaluation across diverse tasks and populations. It is not tied to a single standard body but builds on established ergonomics principles such as body sizing, movement economy, mental workload, and task analysis.

Principles: Designs should be adjustable to a wide range of body sizes and capabilities; interfaces should minimize awkward postures and unnecessary mental effort; workflows should fit natural user rhythms and avoid unnecessary interruptions. Accessibility, inclusivity, and contextual fit within the work or product environment are core considerations.

Applications: Ergonomiga informs the development of office furniture, computer peripherals, automotive interiors, consumer electronics, medical devices, and industrial equipment, as well as software interfaces and dashboards that support safe and effective use in real-world settings.

Methods: Practitioners combine user research, anthropometry, biomechanical assessment, cognitive load evaluation, and usability testing. Data from field observations, prototyping trials, and ergonomic risk screening guide design choices and post-launch adjustments.

Reception: As a relatively new or emerging term, Ergonomiga is used variably and often serves as a conceptual umbrella rather than a fixed standard. It coexists with traditional standards such as ISO 9241 and other usability and safety frameworks.
