Chirurgas

Chirurgas is a genus of small, nocturnal rodents belonging to the family Cricetidae. These South American animals are commonly known as "leaf-eared mice" due to a distinctive fold in their large ears. They are found in a variety of habitats, from grasslands and shrublands to forests, across much of South America.

The genus chirurgas comprises several species, with notable examples including Chirurgas elassodendron and Chirurgas lanosus.
