Catahoula
The Catahoula, officially known as the Catahoula Leopard Dog, is a breed of dog originating from Catahoula Parish, Louisiana, USA. Developed by Native American tribes, it was later refined by European settlers for herding and hunting livestock, particularly wild boar. The breed is known for its distinctive spotted coat, which can come in a variety of colors and patterns, with the blue merle being the most recognizable. Their eyes can also be striking, often appearing in shades of blue, brown, or even heterochromatic (two different colors).
