Talviurheilukeskus, or winter sports center, is a facility or network of facilities designed for the training, competition, and recreation of winter sports. In Finland and other Nordic countries such centers form part of the national sports infrastructure, supporting disciplines such as cross-country skiing, alpine skiing, snowboarding, biathlon, ski jumping, ice skating and snowshoeing. A typical talviurheilukeskus combines outdoor venues with indoor facilities: groomed slopes and trails, biathlon ranges and ski jumps, ice rinks, and often indoor training halls and gym spaces. Modern centers may include artificial snowmaking, lighting for extended hours, equipment rental and repair services, and on-site concessions.
