highkarat
Highkarat is a term used in the jewelry trade to denote gold with high purity. While not a formal, universal standard by itself, it is commonly used to describe gold alloys with higher karat values, typically 18K, 22K, or 24K.
The karat value indicates how many parts out of 24 are gold. 24K is considered pure gold
Higher karat gold tends to have a brighter, more saturated yellow color. 22K and 24K are common
Gold purity is usually indicated by karat numbers or fineness marks such as 750 (18K), 916 (22K
Higher karat gold is more prone to scratching and bending and may require gentler handling and cleaning.
