Gichtanfälligkeit refers to an increased predisposition or susceptibility to developing gout. Gout is a common form of inflammatory arthritis characterized by sudden, severe attacks of pain, swelling, redness, and tenderness in joints, most often in the big toe. This susceptibility is not a disease in itself but rather a genetic or acquired tendency that makes an individual more likely to experience the metabolic disturbances that lead to gout.

Several factors contribute to gichtanfälligkeit. Genetic predisposition plays a significant role, with certain gene variations affecting how the body handles uric acid. This can lead to overproduction of uric acid or impaired excretion by the kidneys.
