Gestanzte is the German past participle/adjective derived from stanzen, meaning punched or stamped. In industrial and craft contexts it describes parts, components or materials that have been formed by a punching or stamping process in which a die and punch remove or deform material to produce holes, shapes or outlines.

The term is widely used for sheet materials such as metal, cardboard, paper, leather and some plastics. Typical gestanzte Teile (punched parts) are produced by mechanical or hydraulic presses using cutting dies, progressive dies or rotary tools; small runs may use manual presses or hand-operated tools. The process is related to die cutting and blanking and is distinguished from cutting processes like laser or waterjet by the use of localized shear and often the presence of burrs and work-hardened edges.

Applications include automotive panels and brackets, electronic shields and contacts, packaging inserts, gaskets and labels. Advantages of stamping include high production speed, repeatability and cost-effectiveness for high volumes. Limitations can include tooling cost, material waste, edge burrs and constraints on achievable geometries and tolerances.

Quality considerations for gestanzte parts include dimensional accuracy, burr control, springback, tool wear and material properties. Post-processing such as deburring, heat treatment or forming is common. In everyday German usage, gestanzte may also simply describe any object that has been punched or perforated.
