A traditional bröllopsfest commonly features a meal, toasts, speeches, the wedding cake (bröllopstårta), and dancing into the evening.

Traditions are often blended with modern preferences, allowing couples to tailor the ceremony to their values, beliefs, and cultural backgrounds. Planning considerations may include guest lists, invitations, and legal arrangements such as name changes or prenuptial agreements.
