Zsírtömeg refers to the mass of fat within a living organism, typically expressed as a percentage of total body mass. It is a key component of body composition, alongside lean body mass, which includes muscle, bone, and organs. Measuring zsírtömeg is important for assessing an individual's health status, as both excessively high and excessively low levels can be detrimental. High zsírtömeg, often referred to as obesity, is associated with an increased risk of chronic diseases such as type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and certain types of cancer.
