Vahviste

Vahviste is a Finnish word that translates to "reinforcement" in English. It refers to the act or material used to strengthen something, making it more durable, stable, or resistant to stress. The concept of vahviste is applied across various fields, from construction and engineering to material science and even abstract concepts like strengthening arguments or resolve.

In construction, vahviste commonly refers to reinforcing bars, often made of steel, embedded within concrete. This combination, known as reinforced concrete, significantly increases the tensile strength of the concrete, allowing it to withstand bending and shear forces. Without vahviste, concrete would be brittle and prone to cracking.
