Talajvízcsökkentés

Talajvízcsökkentés, also known as groundwater lowering or dewatering, is a construction and engineering process used to reduce the level of groundwater in a specific area. This is typically done to create a dry and stable environment for excavation, foundation construction, or underground infrastructure development. The presence of groundwater can saturate soil, reducing its load-bearing capacity and making it unstable, which can lead to collapses during excavation.

The process usually involves installing a system of wells or sumps around the construction site. These wells are then connected to pumps, which continuously extract groundwater. The extracted water is then typically discharged away from the site, often to a surface water body or a sewer system, in compliance with local regulations. The effectiveness of talajvízcsökkentés depends on factors such as soil permeability, the depth of the groundwater table, and the volume of water to be removed.

Several methods can be employed for talajvízcsökkentés, including wellpoint systems, deep wells, and sump pumping. Wellpoint systems are suitable for shallow groundwater levels and consist of a series of small-diameter wells connected to a header pipe and pump. Deep wells are used for deeper groundwater tables and involve larger diameter wells equipped with submersible pumps. Sump pumping is a simpler method where a pit is dug, and water is pumped out as it collects.
