TGAIngenieuren, often written as TGA-Ingenieure or TGAIngenieure, are engineers who specialize in Technische Gebäudeausrüstung (TGA), the technical building equipment that enables modern buildings to function. They plan, design, install, coordinate, operate and optimize the systems that provide heating, cooling, ventilation, sanitation, electrical power, lighting and building automation.

Their scope includes heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC), electrical engineering, sanitary installations, fire protection and security systems, as well as building automation and controls (BMS). They also address energy efficiency, sustainability and integrations with renewables, storage or district energy networks.

Typical activities span the project lifecycle: concept development, load calculations and energy simulations, equipment selection and layout planning, preparation of construction documents, tender support, quality assurance and site supervision, commissioning and handover, and ongoing optimization in operation.

Education and training: most TGA engineers hold a degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or architectural engineering with a specialization in TGA. Additional qualifications in energy efficiency, control technology and project management are common. Professional registration or certifications vary by country.

Work environment: TGA engineers work in engineering consultancies, planning offices, contracting companies and real estate developers, often as part of multidisciplinary project teams with architects and other engineers. They may focus on new construction, renovations, or facility management for public and private clients.

International context: in English-speaking countries the role is commonly called building services engineer or MEP engineer. In German-speaking regions the term TGA-Ingenieur or TGA-Planer is standard.
