Sikkerhetsinnstilling, literally “security setting”, refers to any configuration that determines how a system, application or network controls access, protects data and enforces policies. The term is used across operating systems, browsers, cloud services and enterprise environments, and the specific options vary with the platform.

In personal computing, sikkerhetsinnstilling often covers permissions for hardware devices, antivirus behaviour, firewall rules, encryption of files and disks, and authentication methods such as passwords, PINs or biometric data.
