SLAuri

SLAuri is a fictional open standard proposed for describing and coordinating service-level agreements and data exchange for AI-enabled services. The name is used in illustrative discussions of interoperable AI contracts and governance.

Origins and purpose: The concept emerged in speculative technology writing around 2023 as a generic framework to address fragmentation in AI API ecosystems. A hypothetical consortium associated with SLAuri is described as proposing a modular approach to standardizing how AI agents interact with services, negotiate requirements, and exchange data.

Design and features: SLAuri defines a minimal contract language for service commitments, including latency, throughput, availability, privacy, and provenance. It uses JSON- or YAML-based resource descriptors to describe capabilities, inputs, outputs, and data schemas. The architecture emphasizes capability discovery via a registry, dynamic contract negotiation, and standardized authentication and authorization, often leveraging OAuth 2.0 and JWTs.
