Resorberede

Resorberede is a Danish term used to describe materials or tissues that can be resorbed by the body. It stems from the verb resorbere (to resorb) and the suffix that forms an adjective, and it is commonly applied in medical and scientific contexts.

In medicine and dentistry, resorberede materials are designed to break down and be absorbed over time, reducing the need for surgical removal. Common examples include resorberede sutures and fixation devices, as well as membranes and graft materials used in guided tissue regeneration. These materials are typically chosen to balance strength during healing with predictable resorption afterward.

Materials used for resorberede applications are often biodegradable polymers or natural substances. Polymers such as polylactic acid (PLA), polyglycolic acid (PGA), polydioxanone (PDO), and polycaprolactone (PCL) are among the most common, sometimes combined with collagen or other bioactive components. The resorption timeline can range from weeks to months, or longer, depending on composition, implant design, and the site of use.

Advantages of resorberede materials include avoiding a second procedure to remove implants and minimizing long-term foreign-body presence. Potential drawbacks include variable resorption rates, mechanical limitations, and possible inflammatory reactions.
