Quinala

Quinala is a fictional town and civil parish in the northern valley region of Valoria. It lies at the confluence of the River Selis with the foothills of the Miran Range, about 75 kilometers northwest of Valoria City. The name derives from the Quinala language spoken by early settlers and is often translated as "crossroads."

Quinala originated as a 19th-century trading post serving nearby farms and mines. A railway branch arrived in 1912, accelerating growth in industry and services. It was incorporated as a municipality in 1921 and has since developed a diversified local economy.

Geography and climate: The town sits on broad river flats with hills to the south. It has a temperate climate, with warm summers and cool winters. Annual rainfall ranges from 700 to 900 millimeters, with most precipitation in winter and spring.

Economy: Agriculture—citrus, olives, and maize—and small-scale manufacturing are the core sectors. Services and logistics support the town, and a farmers market plus craft fairs attract visitors.

Demographics and culture: As of 2021, about 8,500 people live in Quinala. The population is primarily Quinalan-speaking, with Valorian as the official language. The Harvest Festival and local cuisine are notable cultural features.

Governance and education: Quinala is governed by a mayor and a 12-member council. It belongs to Valoria Province and the national district. Education includes two primary schools, one high school, and a community college.
