Preordaining

Preordaining is a theological concept that refers to the divine decree or predestination of future events. This idea is primarily found within certain religious and philosophical traditions. In some theological interpretations, preordination suggests that God has already determined all that will happen, including the salvation or damnation of individuals. This can be viewed as an act of divine sovereignty and knowledge, where God's plan encompasses all of existence before it unfolds.

Different religions and denominations approach preordination in varying ways. For instance, in Calvinism, a prominent branch of Protestantism, predestination is a core doctrine. It posits that God has eternally chosen some people for salvation and others for condemnation. This choice is not based on foreseen actions of individuals but on God's inscrutable will. In these views, God knows what will happen but does not necessarily cause it to happen in a way that removes human agency.
