Politistyrker

Politistyrker are organized law enforcement bodies responsible for maintaining public order, preventing and investigating crime, enforcing laws, and providing safety services to citizens. The term is used in Norwegian and other Nordic languages and generally refers to the various police forces operating within a country, from national to local levels.

The exact composition and naming of politistyrker vary by country. Some nations rely on a single nationwide police service, while others maintain multiple forces for criminal investigation, traffic control, border security, and special operations such as counter-terrorism or riot control.
