Orrviszketés

Orrviszketés, also known as itchy nose, is a common sensation that can be triggered by a variety of factors. It is an irritating feeling that prompts the urge to scratch the nose.

One of the most frequent causes of orrviszketés is allergies. Airborne allergens such as pollen, dust mites, pet dander, and mold can irritate the nasal passages, leading to itching. This is often accompanied by other allergy symptoms like sneezing, runny nose, and watery eyes.

Environmental irritants can also cause an itchy nose. Smoke, strong perfumes, cleaning chemicals, and even dry air can dry out the nasal lining, making it more susceptible to irritation and itching.

Infections, particularly viral infections like the common cold, can also manifest with an itchy nose. As the body fights off the infection, inflammation in the nasal passages can lead to this sensation. Bacterial infections, though less common, can also be a cause.

Sometimes, physical stimuli can induce orrviszketés. Touching the nose with dirty hands, or even small insects like gnats, can cause a temporary itch. Certain skin conditions affecting the face may also extend to the nasal area.

While generally a minor annoyance, persistent or severe orrviszketés, especially when accompanied by other concerning symptoms, warrants medical attention to determine the underlying cause and receive appropriate treatment. Treatment often involves identifying and avoiding triggers, using nasal sprays, or managing underlying conditions like allergies or infections.
