Moneytree

Moneytree, commonly Pachira aquatica, is a tropical tree widely grown as a decorative houseplant. Native to wetlands in Central and South America, it is often sold with a braided trunk, a form created by threading together several young stems. The plant is associated in popular culture with wealth and good fortune, a link reinforced by feng shui traditions and marketing, though it has no proven effect on financial circumstances. The leaves are palmately compound with five leaflets, though the number can vary.

In cultivation, moneytree prefers bright, indirect light and well-draining soil. It tolerates ordinary room humidity and temperatures but dislikes prolonged soggy soil.
