Laminowanych

Laminowanych is the Polish inflected form of the adjective laminowany, used to describe surfaces or materials that have undergone lamination. Lamination is a manufacturing process in which a decorative or protective layer is bonded to a substrate, typically by heat and pressure, with an adhesive.

The most common laminates are płyty laminowane, widely used in furniture, cabinetry and interior finishes, as well as panele laminowane, used as flooring. In a typical system, a decorative layer of impregnated paper (often melamine resin) is applied to a core such as particleboard or MDF and then pressed. High-pressure laminates (HPL) offer greater durability, while lower-pressure variants (LPL or CPL) are used for cost-sensitive applications. Edges are usually sealed to improve moisture resistance.

Applications and properties. Laminowanych surfaces are valued for a wide range of decors, scratch resistance, and ease of cleaning. They provide a uniform appearance and good dimensional stability. Limitations include susceptibility to edge damage and potential water ingress if edges are not properly sealed. Repair usually involves replacing the affected panel rather than repairing the surface.

Linguistic note. Laminowanych is a plural inflection of laminowany, appearing in phrases such as kolory laminowanych płyt or krawędzie laminowanych blatów. The term is common in product descriptions, catalogs and construction contexts in Polish.
