Kjettinger

Kjettinger (Norwegian: plural of kjetting, meaning "chains") are assemblies of linked metal rings or segments used to transmit force, secure loads, provide traction or anchor objects. They come in many forms and sizes, from small decorative chains to heavy-duty industrial and marine chains designed for lifting, towing and mooring.

Types of kjettinger include welded link chains, roller chains for power transmission, stud link chains for anchors, and snow chains used on vehicle tires.
