Inntaksperífir

Inntaksperífir are hardware devices that provide data to a computer system by converting physical actions or environmental conditions into digital signals. The term is used in Icelandic to describe input peripherals, distinguishing them from output peripherals, which relay data from a system to users or devices.

Common human input devices include keyboards, mice, touch screens, styluses, and voice interfaces. Sensor-based input peripherals collect environmental data and may feed embedded systems, industrial controllers, or robotics; examples include cameras, microphones, temperature and pressure sensors, barcode scanners, and biometric readers.
