Histontalidae
Histontalidae is a taxonomic family of marine crustaceans in the class Malacostraca, within the order Amphipoda. In current classifications it is recognized by some taxonomists as a valid family, while others place its constituent species within closely related amphipod groups. The family as presently understood comprises a single described genus, Histontalus, which serves as the type genus for the family. Within Histontalus, two described species are recognized: Histontalus marinus and Histontalus borealis.
