Haglunds
Haglunds is a colloquial term used to describe a bony enlargement on the back of the heel bone, medically known as Haglund's deformity. This condition typically develops over time due to repetitive pressure and friction in that area. It is often associated with wearing rigid shoes, such as pumps or dress shoes with stiff heel counters, that rub against the back of the heel. The bony prominence, also referred to as a "pump bump," can lead to inflammation of the bursa located between the Achilles tendon and the heel bone, causing pain and swelling.
