Glenelg is a coastal suburb located in the City of Port Phillip, within the Australian state of Victoria. Situated approximately 12 kilometers southeast of Melbourne’s central business district, Glenelg is renowned for its picturesque beaches, historic charm, and vibrant community atmosphere. The area was originally inhabited by the Boon Wurrung people of the Kulin Nation, who referred to the region as *Ngarook*. The name "Glenelg" is believed to have been inspired by the Scottish village of Glenelg, though some sources suggest it may derive from the Gaelic words *gleann* (valley) and *eag* (mouth), referencing its coastal location.
