Failisõnumite

Failisõnumite is the Estonian term used to refer to messages that relate to files or file operations in computer systems. In practice, the term describes a category of messages generated by software, operating systems, or network services in response to file-related events, such as opening, reading, writing, deleting, or moving files, as well as during file transfers and storage operations.

Failisõnumid can appear as user-facing alerts or as entries in log files. They provide information about the outcome of a file operation (success, failure, or in-progress status), warnings (permissions issues, insufficient quota, file not found), or errors (read/write I/O errors, access denied). Many systems structure failisõnumid to include elements such as timestamp, severity level, source component, and a human-readable description. They may be localized for users or formatted for machine parsing, especially in structured logs like JSON.

Classification commonly includes informational, success, warning, error, and critical categories, with some contexts offering additional debugging traces. In software development, failisõnumite logs support debugging, monitoring, and auditing of file-related behavior. In user interfaces, these messages inform users about outcomes and required actions. In system administration, centralized logging and log aggregation enable analysis of file access patterns and potential security events.
