FRC

FRC stands for the FIRST Robotics Competition, a program of FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology). It is a global high school robotics competition that challenges teams of students to design, build, program, and operate a robot to compete in a head-to-head game on a standard field. Teams work in partnership with mentors, sponsors, and schools to plan projects, manage a budget, and comply with safety and competition rules.

FRC is one of three programs run by FIRST, alongside FIRST Tech Challenge for middle- and high‑school

competitions,
teams

alliances
of
three
teams
to
play
qualifying
matches
on
an
arena
field.
The
season
ends
with
district
or
regional
events
feeding
into
the
FIRST
World
Championship,
which
features
divisionals
and
a
finals
event.
