EFISystemTeil

EFISystemTeil is a modular component within electronic fuel injection (EFI) systems used in internal combustion engines. It functions as an interface and processing unit that connects the engine’s electronic control hardware with a variety of sensors and actuators, enabling coordinated control of fuel delivery and related engine functions.

In operation, the EFISystemTeil collects real-time signals from sensors such as intake air flow, throttle position, engine temperature, and exhaust oxygen sensors. It may perform signal conditioning, calibration, and fault monitoring before communicating with the main electronic control unit (ECU). Based on ECU commands and local data processing, it drives actuators such as fuel injectors, idle speed controls, and startup devices, contributing to engine efficiency, emissions control, and performance.

Typical implementations combine signal conditioning circuits, a microcontroller or microprocessor, memory for calibration data, and communication interfaces. Common interfaces include CAN, LIN, SPI, or I2C, allowing it to exchange information with the ECU and other vehicle networks. Some configurations place the EFISystemTeil as a discrete module, while others integrate its functionality directly into the ECU housing.

Applications span automotive, motorcycle, marine, and power-generation engines, where reliable fuel metering and diagnostics are essential. The EFISystemTeil supports engine management strategies such as closed-loop fuel control, fault detection, and diagnostic readiness, contributing to emissions compliance and drivability.
