Drahthaars
The Deutsch-Drahthaar, commonly referred to as the Drahthaar, is a German versatile hunting dog developed in the early 20th century to combine pointing, tracking, and retrieving abilities in a single breed. Breeders aimed to create a single, rugged gun dog capable of performing across diverse terrains and game. The breed emerged from standardized breeding programs that integrated several traditional German gundog lines, most notably the German Wirehaired Pointer, along with other coarse-coated pointing breeds. It is recognized by the Vereine Deutsche Drahthaarhunde (VDD), the German Kennel Club (VDH), and the Fédération Cynologique Internationale (FCI).
